Chartered College of Teaching are delighted to offer members an opportunity to participate in a live discussion with Ofqual and to pre-submit any questions. Ofqual is the regulator of qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.
Please join us together with Julie Swan (Executive Director for General Qualifications) and Richard Garrett (Director of Policy and Strategic Relationships for General Qualifications) where we will discuss and take questions on the arrangements for this summer’s GCSE, AS and A level exams. Ofqual is keen to hear from teachers about those arrangements as we look ahead to this summer’s exam series.

Our Presenters
Julie Swan is Executive Director of General Qualifications and Deputy Chief Regulator at Ofqual. She has worked at Ofqual since 2008. Julie previously worked for both the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and at the Law Society of England and Wales.
Richard Garrett is Director of Policy and Strategic Relationships for General Qualifications at the exam board regulator Ofqual. He is responsible for policy and regulatory requirements for GCSE and A level qualifications and for Ofqual’s regulation of statutory national curriculum assessments. He also oversees Ofqual’s relationships with stakeholders including teaching associations, unions and the Department for Education. Richard has worked for Ofqual and its predecessors on the regulation of both the development and delivery of qualifications for over 10 years.
Professor Dame Alison Peacock, Chief Executive of the Chartered College of Teaching, a Professional Body that seeks to raise teacher status through celebrating, supporting and connecting teachers to provide expert teaching and leadership. Prior to joining the Chartered College, Dame Alison was Executive Headteacher of The Wroxham School in Hertfordshire. Her career to date has spanned Primary, Secondary and advisory roles. She is an Honorary Fellow of Queens College Cambridge and UCL, a Visiting Professor of both the University of Hertfordshire and Glyndŵr University and a trustee for Big Change. Her research is published in a series of books about Learning without Limits offering an alternative approach to inclusive school improvement.
