Why personalised professional development is essential for teacher efficacy

While it is widely acknowledged that we do need to drive the progress of educators to ensure that effective teaching takes place consistently, it could be argued that few schools are getting this right. With teacher retention figures highlighting the growing problems in education, perhaps a look at how we support teacher development may be part of the answer.  Personalised learning is known to be an effective model to support students in the classroom, yet it is not often used in teacher development.
